April 3 - Busan, South Korea

It's a rainy, cold (57F) and gloomy day in Busan, South Korea. Busan is the second largest city in South Korea, with Seoul being the first. This is the view from my balcony.

Downtown

However, once you're with in 48 of an excursion, there are no refunds. So we headed out. Our first top was Gamcheon Cultural Village. It was a shanty town formed when refugees flocked to Busan during the Korean War, and even today bears traces of the tumultuous war time history of Korea. Most of the houses were small at less than 33m² wide. Residents still share public restrooms built in those days. It is a brightly colored town and probably some place I'll like to visit on a sunny day.

The famous "Fish"

Famous Sitting Lady. You are supposed to sit next to her and get a pic. but the line was way too long

Cherry Blossoms everywhere

Then we were scheduled for an hour at the Songdo Beach. Ha! Again it looks like a great place if the sun was shining. I did get to walk the Skywalk.

The Skywalk was either wood with see-through grates, tile or stone

Then it was off to the Jagaichi Seafood Market. Not overly impressed as I've been to enough of these.

Here most seafood is live, and you point to what you want to take home. No they don't kill it for you

So I headed to the Gukje International Market, more my cup of tea.

Luckily we found the underground shopping, which was a typical, low end mall

It is also the location of the Busan International Film Festival, held each year.

Good Night Busan

OK, Yes, I think this bridge is way cool
