April 13 - Yokohama, Japan

Today we arrived in Yokohama, Japan. It is the nearest cruise port to Tokyo.
Let me first tell you about Yokohama. We did a little sightseeing on our way to Tokyo and I must say they have some really cool structures.

The Yokohama Landmark Tower is the third tallest building, and fifth tallest structure in Japan, standing 296.3m (972ft) high

The InterContinental Yokohama Grand is shaped like a yacht under sail.

Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris Wheel was built in 1989, as an exhibit for the Yokohama Expo. The outer diameter is 100 meters across, and the maximum number of passengers it can hold is 480 people. 60 gondolas run a full circle every 15 minutes.

The Yokohama Bay Bridge is an 860m (2,820ft) cable stayed bridge. It opened September 27, 1989 and it crosses Tokyo Bay with a span of 470m (1510ft). The bridge is part of the Bayshore Route of the Shuto expressway.

The Cruise terminal is multi-purpose. I know it hard to see, however they designed it to be a running track and walk way. First picture is looking back toward the city, while the second is looking out towards the bay. Just tilt you head a little one way or the other

And since we were here over night I got some great night pictures

And they had a Folkloric for us

And after 2 days here in Yokohama, it was time to head out, and some of the locals came by to say farewell. They were waving light-sticks at us, so we turned on our flashlights and waved back. This has been one of my favorite ports.
