March 11 - Brisbane, Australia
Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia, with Sydney being first and Melbourne being second. I headed out on an excursion. The highlight of the tour was the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
I got to feed and pet some Kangaroos
I got to pet a Koala.
I saw a crocodile up close
This is a wild Australian turkey
A Wombat came out of his burrow to say hello
This Wedge-Tailed Eagle was shy and turned away as I took his picture
This Cockatoo was not shy at all
There was a platypus, however the photo didn't come out very good as he had a crippled flipper and swam in circles. They are smaller than I had expected
And some Flying Fox Bats
Then we headed out to Mt Coot-tha for some scenic views.
Found this guy just hanging out
We then toured the North and South sides of the Brisbane river and apparently in Brisbane they refer to their city as CBD - Central Business District. Also, I apologize for the quality of the next photos, as I was on the wrong side of the bus. Apparently when they drive on the left side of the street, then all the sights are also on the left side and I was on the right.
Downtown
Churches.
The last picture is of the stadium, which was built on a cemetery and the little church in the middle is to remind everyone that it was a cemetery.
Your pictures are great! It has been reading your posts and seeing your pictures.
