August 21 - It's a Hell of a Day at Sea

I woke up early to a great sunrise. However that would be the last we saw of the sun, all day.

The winds and waves kept increasing all day as we sailed into hurricane type conditions. We ended up with 8 to 10m (26 to 32ft) waves and 55 to 70k (63 to 80mph) winds. And what a GREAT day it was. It was even better than the Drake Passage!!! And these pictures just don't justify the conditions. I have videos.

And yes this is Kat's porthole completely under water. She is on deck 4.

Here is the world map and our current location

Only problem was, it was formal night and I had a hard time walking around in heels. I put them on at 4:45 and they were off by 6:45. There was some definite carnage in my room, because of the conditions. My room attendant had left me a towel animal. However after dinner he was decapitated. Also my shampoo bottle from the top shelf of my shower was on the floor along with other small items throughout the room.

All is good and we survived
