August 16 - Alesund, Norway

Alesund, Norway is actually bigger than Haugesund, however it felt smaller. Probably because we hung around the port area and walked from one body of water to the other.

Not sure of the significance, but there were trolls everywhere

There was a view point, which was a mere 417 step up (plus a couple of inclined switchbacks) that we decided not to do it.

The town's architecture felt very castle-like

Here is a birds eye (ship) view of the town

Down Town

There was a 'Festival' going on

And yes, like I said, the town was not very wide

And sometimes, I felt like I was in Venice

Some statues and artwork

And now we know Groot's (from Guardians of the Galaxy) hometown.

I like the local beer.

And the best part of the day was when I got a text from a prior colleague. He was on the Viking ship, which was also in port! It was late in the day and we had limited time, however we met up, caught up and promised to stay in touch and not to wait another three years and thousands of miles
