July 23 - Cherbourg, France

Today it was back to touring. We are in Cherbourg, France, the first city in France to be liberated from the Germans in WWII. I did a walkabout with the Lety, Eileen, Randy and Kat.

It is a typical harbor town in France.

Your typical Irish Biker Gang, 'The Bandidos'. Hard to be threatening with an Irish accent. They were quite nice and polite

Unique (quaint) Buildings

 Fish Market

Fort du Roule, on the Hill

And as we sailed out of the Harbor we saw these fortifications
  • Flemish fort, Fort de I'Ouest, Fort de I'Est, Fort de Chavagnac and Fort de I'lle Pelee . Not sure which is which
