July 29 - Skagen, Denmark

Image
Skagen, Denmark is a great town.  It is a harbor town, and I found a man, and a boat (or at least a partial one) with my name on it! The town is quite picturesque. There was a church. And lawn-mowing Rumbas, everywhere. This should really catch on in the States. And the commiserate memorials (Gordon, the fisherman, plus) The downtown was a pedestrian walk-way, with only an occasional car. The people are unique and consider 65F degrees summer weather This was a large picture on a wall as you head into town. And the local beer was pretty good.

July 28 - Day at Sea

Image
Today was a typical day at sea. I got my hair done, went to "Cheers with the Officers", and had lunch with the Ladies at Izumis, worked on my blog, had cocktails, went to dinner and then the show and made an early night of it. So I will show you some towel animals Octopus,  Turtle,  I think a Giraffe,  a Doll,  Mommy and Baby,  Not sure, maybe a centipede Baby Swans,   Teen-age Swans,  Swans Monkey (with big ears?),  Not Sure and Not Sure Pole Dancing Monkey,  Hippo or Pig? Hearts.

July 27 - Bruges (Brussels), Belgium

Image
We actually ported in Zeebrugge, Belgium today. And this is a port I've been to before. The last time I was here, in 2017, I went to Bruges and saw the sights. This time I headed to Brussels. A bunch of my colleagues have been there, since we worked with NATO, and Brussels in the headquarters. So, I wanted to see for myself, why they like it so much. And  I don't see why they liked it so much. The first thing we saw was the Atomium. It was constructed for the 1958 World's Fair. The monument, built in the shape of a body-centered cubic iron crystal, was intended to honor the metal industry and celebrate the atomic age. Each of the metal spheres are 18 meters in diameter; the entire structure stand 102 meters tall. Brussels itself was not overly impressive, more like any other city.  However the Grand-Place was something to see.  I only wish I was there in about 2 weeks time, because they have a flower carpet which takes up most of the plaza. I would come back to see it. Othe
