June 22 - Koper, Slovenia

Just when I learned Italian, we arrive in Koper, Slovenia. This country far and exceeded my expectations! I did a Hop On/Hop Off & Taste excursion. It was really unique.
Our first stop was a little sightseeing in the town of Izola, which is one of the few coastal areas of Slovenia. It certainly has lots of boats

And a couple of Churches

After Izola it was off to the 'Taste' part of our excursion
We first stopped at Vinska Fontana Marezige or Wine Fountain Winery, for a glass of wine (I'm liking this 'tasting' already). A wine fountain is merely wine on tap.
They had really good wine and the views around the winery were great

My glass was slightly off kilter, (no, I was not seeing it through wine goggles) so they let me keep it.

The views from the winery were to die for. You could see the town of Koper. I could live here.

Down the street was a quaint little church

You could get a beer across the street. I stuck with my wine.

Then it was off to Downtown Koper, to indulge in additional tastes. We had Donuts

We went to a  Distillery for Liqueur tasting. They had lots of flavors. I struck with Limoncello

We got to try the local Ice cream (gelato) - I had Snicker's flavor - Yum!

And finally more wine or beer, if you so desired

Then it was sightseeing on your own.
The local church. Some went up in the Bell Tower. I did not

Unique Architecture and sights around town

Here they were restoring an old building. They are supporting the old rafters with Bamboo
