May 15 - Lots of Changes
Finally back on board the Serenade of the Seas, and had no plans for the second day in the Seychelles. If I woke up before noon, I was good with that. The Seychelles is just like Fiji or Hawaiian Island. So I can say, been there, done that.
Well at 7:00ish the Captain made an announced into our rooms that we would not be tendering into La Digue Island, Seychelles, as the weather conditions were not conducive for tendering.
I'm glad we didn't do an extra day in Egypt or we would have missed the Ship. So I rolled over and fell back to sleep. Then an hour or 2 later, the Captain makes another announcement, that due to a developing cyclone near Madagascar we would be missing that port too.
So we are sailing directly to Port Louis, Mauritius. Where we will get in a day early and be able to over night in the port.
Barely 2 hours go by and we have a Bravo, Bravo, Bravo call. Which means there is a fire on the ship. Luckily it wasn't bad. My friends Vic and Rick had a converter short, in their room, which caught their mattress on fire. The only damage, besides the mattress, was water damage to the things they had stored under the bed.
Welcome back to the Ship!
