May 28 - New Mini-Cruise #10

Image
This mini-Cruise is called the African Intensive. It is 11 nights and we have 7 sea days. It is from Cape Town South Africa to June 7th, which is actually a day at sea. I can't wait to see how they are going to process us to the next mini-cruise. Obviously we won't be losing or getting any guests....at sea. It is one of three mini-cruises in Segment #3, which has been relabeled as the Africa and Southern Europe Cruise We started a new round of Progressive Trivia and we actually have a chance to win, only because the "professional" have decided to take an independent journey. I'll take the win anyway I can get it. We have the same team, however we changed our name. We are now call the Trebek Rejects. Cool, huh? It was also time to say good-bye to one of my table mates. Gabrielle, she is the one sitting next to me. Sue and Pam are still at my table I finally got a hair appointment. You see they haven't had my color for 2 months. They really still don't so I...

May 27 - Cape Town, South Africa

Image
I visited Cape Town last August after my Botswana and Zimbabwe Safari. However this time I arrived by sea and the views were wonderful.  Because I have been to most the tourist attractions in Cape Town I had nothing planned. So we headed out on Dion's Adventure. Dion is a major Cincinnati Bengals fan and wanted to go to a Bengal Bar in Cape Town. We ended up at Hudson's Burgers. They are a Bengal Bar because they play the Bengal's games in season. Hudson's ended up on one of the best beaches (Muizenburg) in South Africa, on False Bay. Widely known for the surfing. The last picture is of the Oreo Cookie shake.  Around town Residences - the haves  and the have nots   Cool Structures

May 26 - CAS Groot Constantia Premium Event

Image
We arrived in Cape Town, South Africa today and Royal Caribbean had a Crown and Anchor Society Escape for us. We headed to the Groot Constantia Winery. The winery has been in operation since 1685. There were folks walking around in period costumes Here is the venue. They actually have multiple venues on the property. The interior was gorgeous Including the bathroom Our table They had music to entertain us. And the wines weren't bad either and we could have as much as we wanted. The only problem was the event went from 3:00 to 7:00 and they only fed us small canopies. Not to worry - we made it back to the Ship.

May 25 - Mossel Bay, South Africa

Image
We made it to Mossel Bay, South Africa and at first we thought we weren't going to make it to the port. You see there was quite a swell in the bay and the Captain was concerned because we were tendering and he wasn't sure it was safe. Well after sending out a 'test tender', he decided it was safe enough to tender. My excursion wasn't until 1:30, but to make sure I got there in time I headed out around noon. I got to town and did a little browsing. I  really like this town, and the views are phenomenal or maybe it was seeing sailboats, that made me smile. Then it was off on the excursion. First we headed to the  Dias Museum Complex. It was quite the eclectic group of displays. There was the Maritime Display   The Marine Display A Shell Display - no pictures. Really - SHELLS??? A Memorial to the Museum's namesake, Bartolomeu Dias. He was a  Portuguese mariner and explorer. In 1488, he became the first European navigator to round the southern tip  of Af...
