April 20 - Chinese Snacks
My excursion buddy is Diana Huo, whom I've mentioned before, is originally from Beijing. While we were in Beijing she bought some unique and unusual snacks there and today we got together to try them. Mind you she had tried them all.
Her favorite was Chicken-in- a-Bag (vacuumed packed). And yes it came a head and feet, which she didn't recommend eating. It was a small bar-b-que flavored chicken, which was surprisingly moist and quite tasty.
I also tried the Rice Crisp, however I still had the taste of the chicken in my mouth, so it tasted bland. I will try another one later today.
She also gave me these to taste: a Hawthorn Fruit Lollipop and a Mandarin Orange White Chocolate Snack. And the last on is another Hawthorn Fruit candy, which is good for digestion.
All I brought were some Dark Peanut M&Ms for her to try. She had never tried them before.
Other things I did today - busy, busy, busy
- We had a Town Hall about the upcoming Mini Cruise
- We had the Captain Corner, which is a question and answer session, with the Captain, Chief Engineer and Hotel Director. I'm always amazed at the questions people ask.
- It was then round 5 of Progressive Trivia - we aren't the bridesmaids this time, in fact we aren't doing well at all. You might say we weren't even at the wedding.
- I listened to an Imperial Jade Lecture
- I skipped the noon, Solo's lunch
- We had to get tender tickets for Nha Trang, Vietnam
- I went to the talk about Buddha's life.
- There was afternoon trivia
- And the next thing I knew it was Happy Hour.
Tomorrow we will be in port, so it will be a more relaxing day, riding a bus and taking pictures.
