April 30 - Colombo, Sri Lanka

Image
We're in Colombo, Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and this time I had an excursion, so I got off the ship and saw some sights. It was a panoramic bus ride, which is basically a bus trip for two hours around the town, of which you never get off the bus. May favorite site was the Lotus Tower This town has Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, Buddhist, Jews and Hindus. All who live in harmony, even after the Easter Sunday 2019 bombing, of St Anthony's Shrine and other parts of the country.  Sri Lanka’s minority Christian community, which accounts for less than 10% of the country’s total population of 21.4 million, appeared to be the main target of the coordinated attacks.    Here are pictures of the religious buildings St. Anthony's Shrine Down Town This place has some major traffic. Sue and I were going to attempt another try at getting our nails done, after the excursion. However we both got off the bus and said 'No Way, were we going back into town' I wonder how they get their cars
