January 1, 2024 - Happy New Year.

Happy New Year!

As the sun sets on 2023, may God bless you with your life dreams, as he has blessed me with mine.

After Rio de Janeiro we headed to Copacabana Beach to welcome in the new year. But as you can see from a street cam how crowded and busy the beach was, we were grateful we were anchored off shore for the festivities.

We are on the Serenade of the Seas and it appeared we were in the perfect position to watch the world famous fireworks!

The Celebration started earlier this week when we made pop-up cards. My only room decoration

The party got into full swing all over the ship. Unfortunately I was not awake for the  balloon drop in the centrum, as I was taking a nap so I could be up for the fireworks. However I did join the party on the pool deck. No, That is not me in a Carnaval costume....

It was quite crowded and very loud on the deck. Luckily the Captain anchored the boat so that I had a full view from my quiet balcony.

And to say the fireworks were phenomenal is an understatement. We were anchored approximately 5 miles off the beach. And the fireworks along all 2 miles of the beach were in perfect synchronization. It lasted about 15 minutes. And I'll never forget it.

The festivities continued all day long
