April 7 - Forbidden City, Beijing, China

After 40 years, I finally made it to China! And I'm going to walk on the Great Wall. Wohoo! But first we are going to The Forbidden City. We ported in Tianjin, and were greeted with a heartfelt welcome from the Chinese government.  They provided entertainment, including the revered Dragon Dance (the dancers in blue), which I caught on video.  And to no surprise and they caught everything on CCTV.  As I was watching the entertainment, the drone was literally in my face. And later when I headed out on the excursion, the film crew followed me. If you see me, please forward me the link.  It was quite smoggy in Tianjin, so my pictures may be a little blurry. We found out later that the Chinese government moved all smog producing factories out of Beijing and into Tianjin, to clean up the air for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. It was a 3+ hour drive to Beijing. We were lucky that we didn't arrive yesterday as it was a day a remembrance. It is a day when all Chinese visit...

May 28 - New Mini-Cruise #10

This mini-Cruise is called the African Intensive. It is 11 nights and we have 7 sea days. It is from Cape Town South Africa to June 7th, which is actually a day at sea. I can't wait to see how they are going to process us to the next mini-cruise. Obviously we won't be losing or getting any guests....at sea. It is one of three mini-cruises in Segment #3, which has been relabeled as the Africa and Southern Europe Cruise We started a new round of Progressive Trivia and we actually have a chance to win, only because the "professional" have decided to take an independent journey. I'll take the win anyway I can get it. We have the same team, however we changed our name. We are now call the Trebek Rejects. Cool, huh? It was also time to say good-bye to one of my table mates. September 2 - A Couple of 'Lasts'

It is getting harder and  harder to write these posts, as more and more, I am doing things for the last time.  Today was a sea day and I went to  my last Egg Drop contest. No, I didn't compete and, no there was no carnage The girls (Sue, DeeDee, Lety, Pam and Eileen) had their last lunch at Izumi's And I went to the Last (2nd) Guest Talent Show Carolyn Nowinski singing about every port we went to Dan Clairmont leading a Square Dance.  Joe Cantu Signing  and some current mini-cruisers doing interpretive dance
